Breathe Into You

with Karen Hodgson

What if you didn’t have to control everything ?

What if you could feel safe enough to finally let go?

You may have spent years holding it all together. Looking after other people.
Managing. Keeping going, whatever happens. And somewhere along the way, you may have lost sight of yourself a little.

Perhaps it’s time to find your way back to you.

What if something in you wanted more?

Not necessarily to change everything. Perhaps just a little more space.
A little more freedom. A little more time for yourself. Or perhaps there’s something you’ve wanted to do for a long time. An idea. A project. Something you’d like to try.

And whenever that small voice returns, there’s a reason to wait. This isn’t the right time. I need to think of everyone else. It would be complicated. Maybe later. So you keep going. And yet, every now and then, the question comes back :

“What do I really want to experience in my life now?”

What if you could care for others without forgetting yourself ?

You can love your family deeply. Be there for them. Be the person they call. The one everyone gathers around.

And still feel that, among all the roles you fill for other people, there isn’t much room left for you.

Perhaps no one explicitly asked you to put yourself last. Perhaps you simply learned that being a good mother, partner, daughter or grandmother meant being there, adapting and thinking of everyone else.

Then, one day, another question begins to surface:

“And what about the life I want to live ?”

What if you began to question everything you thought you had to be?

There are things you may have learned over the years. Be sensible. Be available. Don’t make a fuss. Think of others before yourself. Be grateful for what you have. Don’t ask for too much. Perhaps some of these still feel right for you.

And perhaps others deserve a question:

“Is this still something I choose for myself today ?”

I know this place well.

I spent much of my life adapting. Doing what needed to be done. Thinking of others before thinking of myself. For a long time, I didn’t even question it. It was simply what I did. Until one day I began to ask myself :

“And where am I in all of this?”

That question led to others. What have I chosen, and what have I simply learned to accept ? What do I want to keep ? And what am I ready to let go of ?

I don’t have all the answers. I’m still finding my way, too. I’ve learned to recognise some things, question others and, little by little, let go of what I no longer want to carry. I’m still discovering more.

Perhaps that’s why I can walk alongside you for part of your journey.

What if your life could feel more like yours ?

Not a perfect life. Not a life where you never think about anyone else.
And certainly not one where you have to throw everything away to prove you’re finally free. 😂

Simply a life where there’s room for you, too.

Where you can listen to yourself before automatically saying yes.
Where you can change your mind. Where you can want something simply because you want it. Where you can make a choice that doesn’t suit everyone without immediately feeling you’ve done something wrong. Where you can love, give and be there for the people who matter to you without losing yourself along the way.

Perhaps you don’t yet know exactly what that life might look like. You don’t have to. You can begin by giving yourself permission to find out.

This is what Soft Release means to me.

Perhaps you’ve carried some things for so long that you barely notice them anymore. Expectations you still try to meet.
All the “I musts” and “I shoulds.” Beliefs about what you can do and what you’re allowed to want. Feelings you kept inside because you had to carry on. Ways of adapting that, over time, became almost automatic.

Some of these may have helped you.
Some may have protected you. Some may have been necessary for a long time.

But do you still need them today?

Soft Release means creating enough safety and space within yourself to begin letting go of what you no longer choose to carry, and making room for what you choose now.

You don’t let go to become someone else.
You let go so you can choose who you want to be.

What if we started with a breath?

You’re breathing right now. Perhaps you hadn’t thought about it until you read that sentence. And yet your breath is always there. When you sleep. When you think. When you laugh. When you’re afraid. When you feel safe. When something moves you.

Your breathing is part of what you experience. It changes with your emotions, with stress and with what’s happening in and around your body. It happens automatically, but you can also choose to change it consciously. That’s one reason breathing has such an important place in my work. We can talk about what you feel. Explore what you think. Understand some of what has happened. But we can also begin with your body. With your breath. Not to force anything.

Simply to notice what begins to change, in your body as well as in your thoughts.

I’m Karen Hodgson.

If you’ve read this far, you already know something about me: I’m still finding my way, too. I’m not speaking to you as someone who has everything figured out.

Through my own life and my work, I’ve wanted to understand why we think, feel and react as we do. Why some experiences stay with us long after they’re over. Why we can understand something in our minds and still feel it in our bodies.

That curiosity led me to train in hypnosis, NLP, coaching and guided breathing practices.

But these are tools. What matters to me is the woman in front of me.

You. Your story. What you feel. What you want to understand. And what you’re ready to explore today. I’m here to listen, help you make sense of what you’re experiencing and explore ways forward with you.

You remain the one who chooses.

And now… which door would you like to open ?

You don’t need to know exactly where it will lead. You can simply begin with the one that feels right for you today.
